Additional Information
The examination fees are required by State Law. For those applicants receiving State or Federal public assistance and submitting proof of assistance, a waiver of the fee may be granted. Please refer to the examination poster for details. Each examination announcement includes a LAST FILING DATE. This is absolutely the final day that you are able to sign up for the exam and purchase a stamp from the Office of the City Treasurer.

PRIOR TO REPORTING FOR THE EXAM
When you report for the examination, BRING WITH YOU:

The application card with STAMP placed on the right hand corner. If you take more than one exam, please make sure that you have one card and one stamp for each examination. If waiver has been granted by the Human Resources Department, the form and verification must be attached.

A current photo identification with your signature (such as a valid driver's license).

If a veteran, a copy of discharge (DD214 Form) for military service. If a disabled veteran (10% or more), bring disability claim number and proof of disability payment. Veterans' preference shall be awarded only to those who provide the above documentation. DO NOT bring original copies since this data will be kept with your test papers.

A pencil with an eraser.
The written exam will take approximately 3 1/2 hours and the test will be multiple-choice. Please arrive at the examination site at least 15 minutes early. The results of the written exam will be mailed to you within four (4) weeks of the exam date.
