11.     Councilor Michael C. Perotto and Councilor Gary Rosen request review state legislation (S433 and H1491), which recognizes the need to expand facilities and programs for the growing senior population. These bills would create a mechanism to provide state funding to aid cities and towns in the planning, reconstruction, construction, design, acquisition of real property, renovation, preservation, rehabilitation, demolition, expansion of a facility to be used as a municipal senior center

Chairman’s Order request the City Manager provide the City Council with a report on the state of elder evictions in the City and how we respond to them.

 

Chairman’s Order request the City Manager request the Executive Director of the Worcester Housing Authority provide the City Council with a report concerning the availability of housing for seniors at their properties and issues regarding the availability and affordability of other housing options for our seniors.

 

Chairman’s Order request the City Clerk provide the Director of Elder Affairs with copies of the most recent demographic reports compiled from vital recordings in the City of Worcester.

 

Chairman’s Order request the City Manager provide the City Council with a report concerning the future potential of the community room space at the Senior Center.

 

Chairman’s Order request the City Manager provide the City Council with an updated transportation report highlighting the solutions that have been implemented getting seniors to and from the Senior Center as well as any challenges that still exist in the regard.
